Facial Specialist Diploma Program

The Facial Specialist program at Beaut Academy - Wellness Center trains students for work as facial and skincare specialists in salons and spas. Students learn facial skincare and facial technology: European and other facial techniques, skin analysis and skin disorders, product chemistry, hair removal, makeup, lash and brow tinting, and eyelash application. The program ends with supervised clinical services on real clients.

FSP-210 Skin Theory, Disease and Disorders of the Skin, 65 hours
FSP-211 Clinical Services, 69 hours: facials on normal, oily, dry, combination, problem and mature skin; electrical devices; tweezing, waxing, threading and sugaring; day and evening makeup; lash and brow tinting; eyelash application; manual extractions
After you graduate
Students who complete all 220 hours and pass every course with at least 70% receive a diploma. In Florida, facial specialists are registered by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation; its requirements include 220 hours of training at a licensed school, and each graduate applies to the Department directly. Our career services team helps graduates with resumes, interview preparation and connections to employers in the beauty industry.
Schedule
Classes run Monday through Friday in three sessions: morning, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; afternoon, 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.; evening, 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. Students attend at least 25 hours a week. New classes begin every month.
Admission
A high school diploma, transcript or GED, or passing scores on the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test; at least 16 years old; a photo ID or driver's license; and a visit to the academy to meet an admissions representative, tour the school and complete the application.
